My Chinese New Year.

Chinese New Year just ended so I decided to make an entry about how I spent my CNY. I used to not feel excited at all about CNY when I was in secondary school, I'm envious of all my friends who are thrilled about CNY as they get to gather with their cousins and play games or even gamble together. I'm the eldest in both Papa Lau & Mama Lau's side, meaning all my cousins are younger than me AND they don't "gamble", they don't play poker cards. I never knew how to play poker card game, even Black Jack. I always felt like I'm stuck somewhere in between adult and children. I couldn't fit in my parents' conversations with my aunts and uncles, I couldn't bring myself to join the games my cousins play too, thinking it's too childish. I was awkward.

I couldn't believe I hadn't been to Taiping the whole 2015! Mama Lau would bring us back to Taiping on school holidays especially CNY. However, last year we spent our CNY in Japan (which I blogged about too, check out the "Japan" label). My school holidays were different from my sisters' so I didn't get to follow them back. This year, things felt very different. I enjoyed CNY a lot with my cousins at Taiping.

I guess I grew up.

*forcing myself not to laugh at this "sentimental" moment*

I enjoyed watching the adults talk. I enjoyed watching the children play. I enjoyed looking after my baby cousin.

Scroll on and let the photos do the talking shall we.

Before heading to my grandparents' place, we stopped by Spritzer Ecopark which was opened last year only. It is quite an ideal retreat to spend the day with family or friends out in the sun but fret not, you will be sheltered by trees so you won't risk a sunburn.

we were welcomed by monkeys!

It's Monkey year anyways haha how auspicious eh?

we didn't stay there for too long as I missed my grandparents haah so we didn't get to play the golf,
I would totally love to come and revisit it!

More home cooked meals prepared by my lovely aunts. It must have been not easy to cook for over 20 people. Thank you, Aunt Wendy & Aunt Desi! The meals were wonderful.

Did I mention the fact the my aunt Doreen from Singapore came to Taiping for CNY this year? What a lovely surprise as Uncle Edwin is usually busy on CNY. They took the effort to travel on the car for half a day to spend CNY with us for the first time and left the next day as Priscilla will be having classes. It was really nice to have everyone together :')
