Chapter Seven of 2016 ft How I Make A Living Blogging

Had a writer's block (or blogger's block? haha) last week so i couldn't come up with anything to write (or type? haha ok i'm stopping) for this entry. Now i'm getting the "kick" (slang for urge/ feel) to write so yeah, yayy :D

So July was a great month. It kicked off with a Penang Trip with my favourite people. We went there during Hari Raya by flight. Thankfully the traffic was still bearable, my initial worries about needing to waste tons of time being stuck in the traffic turned out to be unnecessary. The entire trip went smoothly and wonderfully. I couldn't wish for a better trip.

Here are the separated entries i've posted:

Thanks for being the people i have no trouble crossing the roads with my eyes closed :)

Also, i went for afternoon tea with Jesslyn at The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur. It was a really pleasant tea session! It was also fun dolling up with the bestie once in a while hehs.

Last but not least, i would like to mention about this book Cheesie wrote. I actually got it two months ago when i got my book vouchers lol. I was extremely excited to get it because i have been reading Cheesie's blog and stalking her on IG for ages, she never seem to age btw! Its a really short and entertaining book where she talks about how she started the whole blogging journey, with a sense of humour.  I finished the entire book in a day lol.

i love how simple and nice the cover is!

I also read her e-book How To Be A Successful Blogger (Cheat One™). The soft copy was slightly longer and more fun than the hard copy because it's unedited. I liked Cheesie even more after reading her book!

ahhh such a pretty cover.

I remember I was in primary school when i first started blogging, I was either 11 or 12. Someone in class started having a blog and soon a lot more follow suit, including me. Back then (omg i sound so old wtf) Twitter, Instagram and Wechat (there's no wechat back then actually lol) weren't so popular i guess. I only remember myself using Facebook and MSN. I wasn't really fond of posting too much on Facebook so i used my blog a lot. It was like a diary of mine. I blogged about my school, my feelings, places i've been. We would read each others blog and comment on each others posts. There were a lot of interactions and it was really fun although we probably wrote really childish things that we would laugh at now. I have to say, i enjoy writing. Even til now, i still do. Although all my other friends from primary stopped blogging lol.

Besides writing, I enjoyed reading blogs a lot too. I've been visiting a number of blog regularly over the years. My favourite blogger has to be Xiaxue. It's amazing how she can blog about things that i cannot relate to at all, like her car, or the big Gushcloud Expose, but i still get hooked on every word she typed. I have to say i do skip some of the posts some other bloggers post about (okay i know not everyone reads all my posts too) because i'm just not interested. But that is never the case for Xiaxue. Although she doesn't blog as much as she used to, I get very very very excited every time she makes a new blog post.

Some of the bloggers i used to like stopped blogging like how they used to too. Most of their posts are just advertorial posts. While the others who are still blogging are mostly mothers already like Qiu Qiu, Cheesie and Audrey. It's so funny cause they used to be "just bloggers" and now they are "mothers with toddlers" too. I found myself reading posts about motherhood and baby products. *laugh until got tears emoji* I guess most of the people now don't appreciate long ass wordy posts, they just prefer nice quality pictures on with simple captions on IG and the other social media platforms. Oh I'm so old fashioned!

Love,
Sheunny
