So back to the title. Yes. I got stitches, on the back of my head. I got about 20 of them.
What happened was I went ice skating at Sunway Pyramid with my Uni friends few weeks back. I was skating smoothly,
Stranger: Hey are you ok?
Me: Yeah. *proceeds to stand up with his/her help* (sorry i really couldn't remember in the midst of that chaos lol)
Stranger: No you're not, you're bleeding.
Me: Okay.
Then I got "escorted" out of the ice rink and was brought to a room, you know, the room people treat the injured? i couldn't recall what is it called atm sorry my English is probably degenerating, time to read more & write more. Oh where was i? Yeah, they cleaned my cut and wrapped it up. I was asked to visit a hospital immediately for stitches.
I was extremely shocked when they told me i needed stitches. I thought it was just an innocent fall and a tiny cut that will heal on its own because i felt ..very okay. I wasn't experiencing any pain or dizziness. I was conscious the entire time. How is it possible to have such a big cut?
My friends were all out of the rink by then. I feel kinda bad because they stopped skating to accompany me :') We went to the clinic opposite Sunway Pyramid. I walked that- proving that i'm just fine. All of them waited at the clinic with me :') x2. The doctor took a look at my wound and told me to go to the hospital because the cut is too big. Oh well. How comforting. I went to Sunway Medical Center next but they told me to wait til the next morning because their plastic surgeon to fix my cut. Like hell no i'm gonna stay over night there so i left. On a side note, thank you for following me to the hospital you guys :') Mama Lau told me she's surprised to see such a big group of people there (my friends) haha!
I ended up at PPUM. I waited for hours, with my parents at PPUM. Finally it was my turn, i went in and got my stitches done. The doctors on shift that night were extremely gentle and friendly, luckily.
I would describe the whole stitching process as a facial session. There were hot sensations as well as cold sensations. I couldn't see because it's at the back of my head. Then there was the anaesthesia, that was equivalent to the acne/blackheads/whiteheads removing session. It hurted a little but it was bearable. Luckily it's at the back of my head because i would totally freak out if i can see the injection, and it was one huge syringe i tell you. I am very very afraid of injections, i do not appreciate anything piercing through my skin.
The first week i couldn't lie on my head, i had to sleep on the side only, the slightest pressure on the wound would hurt. On the second week, i could sleep as usual already, i just couldn't knock on my wound too hard (but who would purposely knock their heads la right?) It's already the third week now and it barely hurts already, sometimes i don't even remember it anymore! Well, if it's not for the bald spot i'm currently having la. I had to shave of some of my hair for the stitching so now i have "hair loss" *cries* I hope it will grow beautiful hair quickly!
People kept asking me how did i fell down. I honestly have no idea. I just slipped.
Why's the wound so big? I don't know either, it was flat ice, nothing sharp.
Is there any internal injury? I don't think so considering how normal i'm feeling until now.
Is this my first time skating? Nah. But i'm a clumsy person in general. Now everyone has to constantly remind me not to fall lol.
