I just finished watching Season 2 of 13 Reasons Why, i totally get why everyone didn't like the ending. Honestly i didn't like the ending too, if it were to end this way, i honestly think i would rather take season one's ending & just leave the show the way it is. I think there's gonna be a season 3 as there's tons of questions left unanswered.
What i liked:
1. Clay's parents were so kind, they adopted Justin.
Justin deserves a chance to have a loving family, to start new. The Jensens were really nice to take him in! on a side note, I think they are insanely kind, it's almost unbelievable (or unrealistic lol). first they got Clay a car right after his outburst & request for one, then they were totally cool about letting Justin stay with them.
2. Alex & Zach's friendship.
Zach is such a sweet character, the way he took care of Alex & helped Alex is simply so adorable! BTW, can we just talk about how cute Zach was with Hannah? That was actually the only episode that wasn't too depressing or heartbreaking. They were totally adorable! Shame it had to be a secret & he couldn't grow a pair to date her in public, or else things would have been completely different :(
3. Tyler & Cyrus's friendship.
Although they did fallout near the ending, but it was so nice to see tyler finally having a friend, like an actual friend, instead of being the outcast. I actually enjoyed watching their pranks, i think they were really good, without actually hurting anyone. unlike the stupid bullies smh.
What I disliked:
1. Mop scene.
most traumatizing thing i've ever watched. i saw people complaining about that scene, i didn't expect it to be that bad. Monty was just an annoying follower of Bryce initially, suddenly he is the biggest meanest bully who went around threatening people, then he kinda got away with it, then he became a sick bully? this character is so ridiculous. So so ridiculous. I am disgusted by Monty. I think everyone would agree with me.
2. How easily Bryce got away after his heinous acts.
it makes me so so mad. it wasn't easy for Jess to finally report about the rape but he got away just like that? Justin got 6 months of probation, okay la. HOW DID BRYCE GET 3 ONLY? He deserve a heavier punishment! He really needs to be taught a lesson!!
3. Jessica cheating on Alex.
it was kinda obvious she's still hung up on Justin when Justin first came back but I thought she was really into Alex when she said yes to him asking her to the dance. But the minute she saw Justin in the dance, you can already tell she's still in love with Justin. I expected her to know better but she ended up cheating on poor Alex? that is just ridiculous. Alex has been nothing but nice, loving & supportive. He deserves better Jessica!
4. Justin is still a drug addict. Justin still on drugs even though he was living under his new family's roof. That's really shitty and irresponsible.
Apart from that, there's two new characters i find interesting in this season, Chloe & Nina. I feel kinda bad for Chloe too actually, she's such a sweetheart but she's pregnant with Bryce's baby. I expected her to be those typical mean cheerleaders, but she was actually nothing but nice, she totally deserved better than the pig face Bryce, but can't blame her also la, she didn't know about him :( I also liked how Nina approached Jessica to help & support her. I was quite surprised to find out that she was actually the one who stole the box of polaroids tho, i didn't understand why she did that, i wished she didn't do that.
I guess that's pretty much all my thoughts on 13 Reasons Why Season Two. I wrote this hours after finishing season 2 cause i can't stop thinking about it. I'm not sure if i am looking forward to Season 3 if there's still no closure, cause there's too many things left hanging in a really shitty way in Season 2 la.
