I went to Krabi in early September with my uni friends. We booked our flight tickets almost as soon as we came back from our Redang trip last year. We booked our accommodation a month before our trip.
Upon arriving Krabi airport, we found a booth selling local sim card for only 100baht (RM13-ish). We bought a few of them. I shared one with two other friends of mine, since it provides unlimited data. Let me tell you, the internet connection was pretty impressive, i can even use it on the random islands i've visited, & even during the boat rides where we were supposed to be in the middle of no where without compromising the speed too (did i mention we were sharing it & using it at the same time? yeah i did, okay). I don't know about you but my umobile don't even work well sometimes at certain areas in my campus so i am really impressed.
We found ourselves a van to send us from the airport to our hotel. On our way to our hotel, we booked the activities for the rest of our trip from a booth our van driver brought us to lol. It was 2200baht for each of us, excluding the entrance fees, quite a fair price i guess.
We unpacked a little and went straight for our early lunch. Our van driver told us he was bringing us to a "dim sum" place, we were super confused. We tried to tell him we want Thai food but it was quite a challenge to communicate with him lol.
we ended up at this restaurant. i can't read thai so idk what's the name of the restaurant hahahaa |
this was my pork fried rice. the restaurant was pretty nicely decorated, we were the only ones there. the food was pretty okay & it was around RM12 ish if i'm not mistaken |
After lunch we went to our first destination - Klong Thom Thermal Waterfall.
as you can see, it was quite sunny, but shortly afterwards, it began to drizzle |
After quite some walking, we finally reached the pool. I didn't find anything special there so i wouldn't recommend a visit la.
again, a lot of walking, before we reach the pool |
it looks meh in this photo i'm sorry but it was really beautiful in real life. there were actually fishes in the pool too lol |
There was another pool but it was closed, very unfortunately, so we didn't get to visit it.
After that it started drizzling again. I made a mistake of not bring a set of clothes to change or a towel to wipe off so i was freezing in my wet outfit. We went to Tiger Cave temple next, but it was still raining so we didn't climb up, which was quite a waste but at that point i was kinda freezing to death in my wet clothes so i didn't mind lol.
Fortunately after a warm shower at the hotel, i came back to life. So we went to the (night?) market nearby our hotel. Oh we stayed in Vieng Thong Hotel btw, just in case anyone is wondering. But it was a pretty dodgy looking hotel, i swear it almost looked like those places u see in horror movies if it's a bit darker haha, so i won't recommend staying there.
found the gorilla interesting |
did a little exploring on foot after our dinner. Found Swensen's. How can i say no? |
The second day, we checked out of our first hotel & checked in to Ao Nang Beach Home. I would recommend staying at this hotel because the room was pretty spacious & the service was really good heheh. After checking in, we embarked on our island hopping journey. We went to Bamboo Island. The weather was pretty gloomy hence the sky wasn't looking blue & beautiful for pictures :(
We also went to the famous Phi Phi Island. I have to say, i still think Redang Island in Malaysia is more beautiful. I'm seriously considering to move to Redang Island & maybe start my dental clinic there already lol. I freaking love Redang.
the one rare time my hair didn't look like a mess after wetting it in the beach lol |
We walked to Ao Nang Night Market for dinner. We wanted to go to the famous Krabi Night Market but it's only open on Fridays to Sundays so we found ourselves an alternative.
their so called thai pancake which was actually roti canai with toppings/fillings only hahah |
i got my pad thai again. I love Pad Thai <3 |
That's all for now, stay tuned for part two hehs!
Love,
Sheunny
