My First Aesthetic & Dermatology Clinic Visit ft. CLEO Clinic

Hello everybody!  Today I'm very excited to blog about my very first visit to an aesthetic and dermatology clinic- CLEO Clinic at Desa Sri Hartamas! I've never mentioned this before but one of my main goals in 2020 is to achieve clear skin and radiant complexion, i've been obsessed with watching skin care routines/ product reviews on youtube, it's literally (almost) the only thing on my recommendations nowadays, i have learnt quite a thing or two about skincare ingredients, maybe i'll make a post about it someday. But back to CLEO Clinic, I was very fortunate to be invited and sponsored to get treatments done in the clinic, it was just the thing i needed to help kick start my path to glowing skin!

The interior of the clinic is pretty minimal but classy, i particularly loved the white couch at the waiting area as well as the marble front desk. I have a thing for marble designs!! I was consulted by Dr Tan, who's one of the two founders of the clinic. I stated my skin concerns: enlarged pores, dull skin and acne scars. She gave me a treatment plan and i got on broad immediately.

1. Cleansing/facial
It was some basic cleansing but fancier.
I was partially enjoying it, and partially trying not to laugh.
I remembered my first facial ever, i was 17/18,
i couldn't stop laughing throughout the whole session
because it felt ticklish to me, to have someone else touching my face lol
my second facial, which was with CLEO clinic, i succeeded to keep a straight face
at least most of the time la haha.

2. Glow Peel
the contents of this skin peel includes arbutin, citric acid, lactic acid, kojic acid and salicyclic acid.
judging from these ingredients, i can tell it's a very potent skin lightening treatment.
youtube has taught me that there's two types of exfoliation for the skin
i. physical type, which are facial scrubs that i think everyone is familiar of
ii. chemical type, which uses acids to remove built up layers of dead skin cells
chemical type is known to be more gentle
as the physical type may cause microcuts on the skin if it's not used properly
with the removal of dead cells, new skin cells will show through
dull looking skin will be transformed into healthy youthful skin

3. Glow Laser - Laser Toning
this laser treatment serves to lighten up scarring or pigmentation
i was slightly apprehensive at first, thinking it might be painful
throughout the treatment, i could feel slight prickling sensations
but it wasn't anything unbearable.

4. Photobiomodulation
a hydrating face mask was put over my face accompanied by red light therapy
this boosts cellular function, which improves healing time and promotes skin rejuvenation.
sorry for the very unglam and almost terrifying picture haha

none of these treatments have any downtime.
i left the clinic with my skin feeling a lot more supple,
the acne scarring on my forehead was slightly faded too.
of course, the laser therapy requires multiple treatments to see significant results
so i can't wait to go back and get more of them!

Love,
Sheunny
